The second option is an underlayment floor. Unlike overlayments, self-levelling underlayments are not designed to serve as your finished flooring. They are instead intended to provide a smooth, flat surface that can be used as a base for installing floor coverings such as epoxy. Typically, self-levelling underlayments are used in conjunction with hardwood, tile, sheeting, and epoxy coatings. Underlayments provide a quick installation that allows floors to be walked on within just three hours. Following the underlayment process, new flooring can typically be installed within 24 to 48 hours.
When it comes to concrete floor levelling services, it's important that the self-levelling concrete material is applied over a correctly prepared substrate.
Generally, this involves diamond grinding or shot blasting procedures to get the substrate ready for it's finish. Before we progress further, we conduct tests on the substrate for both moisture vapours and relative humidity. This ensures that we avoid problems related to moisture that could affect the strength of the primer coat's bond. With these checks complete, the application process can get underway.
During the application process, our skilled team ensures that the self-levelling concrete compounds are mixed correctly and poured at a consistent thickness. We pay attention to the smallest of details to prevent any flaws or inconsistencies that could affect the final outcome. We typically apply these compounds over the entirety of the surface. Nevertheless, in some cases, we apply only in specific areas to correct dips or depressions in the substrate.
